About Seona Crawford:
Having recently completed my Masters in Infection Biology, I am looking to begin my professional career in science. I have keen interests in healthcare sciences and microbiology, in particular, parasitology - Which I have specialised in with my masters.
Experience
I have experience in a broad range of biological techniques which I have learnt and developed over the course of my two degrees. Particularly during both my Undergraduate (Parasite detection using molecular methods) and Masters (in vivo investigation of SMOC2 knockdown on trypanosome infection of mice) final research projects. in my masters year I became in vivo qualified with a PIL A licence.
Outside of university I am actively involved in carrying out Parasitology work for a Hedgehog rescue, screening samples and identifying a variety of parasite species to ensure quick and relevant treatment is provided tot he animals.
Education
I hold a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Veterinary bioscience and have just completed a MSc in Infection Biology, with a predicted Merit grade. Both of these degrees have prepared me for a career in research and I am keen to enter down a path I am truly passionate about
