About Shevon Witter:

I consider myself to be a hard-working individual who is motivated by success and overcoming day to day difficulties experienced within Contract Management alongside Compliance and Customer Safety world. I’m driven by the different challenges I face on a day-to-daybasis, always looking to achieve the best result for both my team and our customers.

By working within a variety of industries I have gained severaltransferable skills, such as a good attention to detail and strong budget management control I also have a deep understanding of the operational challenges that Compliance / Repairs staff face, and I haverecord of improving compliance KPIs wherever I have worked.  I am a good listener and a fluent communicator who’s able to deal with a diverse customer base. Whilst working at Orbit I have progressed from a Gas Delivery Officer to a Senior Heating Officer, which reflects my drive to improve myself and progress in my career.

A further example of my ambition to improve, is my completion of a bespoke management course ‘Future Leaders’ provided by Orbit Housing, giving me new skills and approaches. I was handpicked by our management team to undergo this course and I have actively used my new skillset to help drive performance and improvements across my areas of responsibility.

Whilst being at Orbit I have become a member of the ASCP and have most recently won a ‘Rising Star’ Award. I am also apart of Orbit’s Carbon Forum who research future products to improve Orbit’s portfolio I enjoy building working relationships within the organizationto support my knowledge and help broaden my career.

Experience

I am currently working as a Senior Heating officer within the Heating Team.

I am responsible for managing the contracts Orbit have in place with Robert Heath Heating, Air Temp and Elite Sweeps that deliver the service and maintenance program within our gas, oil, solid fuel, airconditioning and renewable properties. Within my role I enjoy implementing new processes and managing the contractors’performance, to make a real difference to our customers’ lives and the day-to-day management of the contract more efficient.

I ensure we continuously monitor and implement new ways of working to manage our financial performance throughout the year along with building better working relationship with our stakeholders, and I ensure our partners are working in line with the contracts we have in place. Through continuous monitoring of our key performance indicators, we have continued to positively impact our financialbudgets and ensuring value for money and customer satisfaction over each of the last four years.

I review and manage the contractors’ KPI dashboard within the team to ensure our customers are getting the best service possible and implement any changes that are needed to boost customer satisfaction and expectations.

Within my current duties I ensure the WIP is consistently managed to ensure aged jobs are cleansed and completed within the agreed SLA’s and avoid customer complaints. I am also responsible for managing the air conditioning services and repairs within our Extra Care sites to ensure all is compliant and working efficiently.

I am also responsible for managing the reactive boiler replacementprogram as well as the budgets on all Gas and Renewable domestic properties along with reactive plantroom upgrades where applicable alongside our Gas auditors.

Since my time at Orbit we have gone above and beyond to remain100% complaint however, during COVID-19 this was not always achievable. We followed the Government guidance along with the Gas safe instructions and regulations to ensure we managed the Health and Safety risk for all our properties. We are now back at and remaining stable with 100% compliance within the Gas, Oil and Solid Fuel properties.

Although my role does not formally involve line management, I take it upon myself to offer support to my colleagues and use many of the skills I have learnt on my recent management courses.  Over the last year, I have now been given more responsibility, including covering my current manager when she is on leave.  I enjoy the additional responsibility and feel that I have developed my ability to lead others towards common goals.
