About Sonia Philip:
Compassionate UK Registered Nurse with 10+ years’ NHS experience as a health care assistant and then as a nurse, delivering high-quality, patient-centred acute and community care.
Experience
I am a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with over fifteen years of continuous experience within the UK National Health Service, having progressed from Healthcare Assistant to Registered Adult Nurse. This journey reflects my strong commitment to professional development, lifelong learning, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across a wide range of clinical environments.
My clinical background includes extensive experience in acute medical care, elderly and frailty services, emergency and short-stay units, endocrinology and diabetes management, cardiology, critical care, maternity services, and community nursing exposure. I am currently practising as a Band 5 Registered Nurse within a Medical Short Stay and Same Day Emergency Frailty Unit, where I am responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, early recognition of deterioration, medication administration including intravenous therapies, wound and catheter management, pain control, and end-of-life support. I work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely treatment and effective discharge planning, supporting continuity of care between hospital and community services.
I am confident in undertaking holistic assessments that consider physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs, enabling me to plan and deliver individualised care that promotes dignity, safety, and independence. My approach to nursing is grounded in evidence-based practice, strong clinical governance, and strict adherence to professional standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. I consistently maintain accurate, confidential documentation and demonstrate a high level of accountability and professionalism in all aspects of my role.
Throughout my career, I have developed excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing me to build trusting therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds. I am calm under pressure, highly organised, and able to prioritise effectively in fast-paced and demanding environments. I am also proactive in recognising safeguarding concerns and escalating risks appropriately to protect vulnerable individuals.
I am now seeking to further my nursing career in the United Arab Emirates, where I can contribute my skills, experience, and commitment to excellence within a progressive healthcare system. I am highly motivated to meet local regulatory requirements and integrate seamlessly into multidisciplinary teams, while continuing to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care in line with international best practice.
Education
BSc in Adult Nursing (2025) with NMC registration, supported by NVQ Level 3 and Level 2 qualifications in Health and Social Care.
