About summer andrews:
I have recently completed my A-Levels in English, Economics, Philosophy, and Theology, and I am honoured to have received an offer to study at Cambridge University. As an independent student, I have demonstrated self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
My professional background includes extensive experience in the hospitality industry, which I began at the age of 13. During this time, I have developed a diverse skill set through various roles such as front-of-house service, kitchen assistance, room service, event organization, and customer service. My responsibilities included preparing food, coordinating events, and resolving customer inquiries, all of which have honed my ability to work efficiently under pressure and deliver exceptional service.
Experience
I have a diverse background in various professional environments, demonstrating adaptability and a strong work ethic. From the age of 13, I have worked in the hospitality industry in multiple roles, including front-of-house service, kitchen assistance, room service, event organization, and customer service. These roles have equipped me with excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a keen attention to detail. Additionally, I completed work experience with Fallen and Olvery, a prestigious law firm, where I gained insights into legal practices, client interactions, and administrative tasks, further enhancing my analytical and organizational skills. I have also interned with an external service organization, contributing to various projects and improving my teamwork and project management capabilities. Furthermore, my volunteer work has allowed me to give back to the community while developing a strong sense of responsibility and leadership.
Education
I attended Christ’s Hospital on a 100% scholarship, where I thrived academically and personally despite the challenges of being an independent student. I have achieved predicted grades of AAB in my A-Levels, with a focus on English, Economics, Philosophy, and Theology. My academic curiosity led me to complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on the death penalty, which honed my research, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Additionally, I was awarded the Daniel Lett Fund, enabling me to attend a prestigious law summer school and further deepen my understanding of legal studies. My involvement in a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as debating, Model United Nations, and writing for the school newspaper, has strengthened my public speaking, writing, and collaborative skills. Organizing significant school events like the Grecians Ball has also enhanced my leadership, event planning, and teamwork abilities. These experiences have collectively prepared me for the academic and social challenges of university life.
