Key results and responsibilities:

• As Security responsibilities included dealing with the general public and checking them in, which in turn enhanced my communication skills and attention to detail.
• During busy periods, responsibilities included occasionally informing people who were having a Covid PCR self-test on how to administer it, further enhancing my communication skills.
• Improved teamwork skills acquired from working as a team to set up site, such as installing the bollards or setting up the gazebo.

• Learning the day-to-day operation of Britain’s largest radio telescope (Lovell Telescope).
• Gathering of research and analysis of astronomical data with other work experience interns, enhancing analytical and teamwork skills. 
• Learning how gravitational waves are discovered at the Jodrell Bank.
• Attempting to analyse astronomical data to discover pulsars.
• The highlight of the experience was the discovery of the pulsar named PSR J172+0924.

• Exceptional teamwork and problem-solving skills were achieved by working within a team to programme a Dani Robot using LabVIEW as part of the work for the module ‘Data Acquisition and Experimental Methods’.
