I am a registered Physician Associate with a substantial comprehensive skill set underpinned by experience in pressurised environments necessitating self-motivation and a positive response to pressure. I am able to identify and quickly close any knowledge gaps I come across by looking to undertake new challenges and learn new skills. These experiences have cultivated leadership, thorough attention to detail, adaptability and a high level of communication to establish interpersonal relationships and characteristics which allow me to work well in a multidisciplinary team, but also well individually.

Experience

Palace Road Surgery – Shadowing: May 2021 – October 2021. March 2024 – May 2024.

I had the opportunity to shadow multidisciplinary teams including GP practitioners, nurses, and healthcare assistants. Assisted in clinics for patients with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, ensuring that they have a well-rounded understanding of their condition and how to manage it.

 

Peverell Park Surgery, Waterside Primary Care Network– Physician Associate Student Sponsorship and Community Medicine Placement: January 2023- January 2024.

I worked alongside a team of clinicians delivering appropriate medical care to patients within the community. Under GP supervision my key responsibilities include, assisting IUD clinics, taking medical histories, utilizing SystemOne and EMIS, performing medical examinations, accompanying GP supervisor in home visits, interpreting findings from investigations with achieving diagnosis and providing appropriate treatment for patients by coordinating with other primary care and secondary healthcare service. 

 

Hospital Placement, Derriford Hospital – Physician Associate Student: Hospital Placement: June 2022- January 2024.

Placement rotations include: 

Participating in ward rounds that assess and triage patients that were referred from either GP practices, A&E and Short Stay unit. Under senior supervision, a few of my responsibilities include history taking, prepping discharge letters, venipuncture, arterial blood gas, ECG, cannulation, and monthly clinical based discussions with mini clinical examinations.

 

Churchfield’s Pharmacy - Pharmacy Assistant/Technician (Part-time): June 2015 – October 2023   

I interact with patients and customers in delivering medications to nursing homes and completing other sales transactions to customers all from working behind the till. I receive, record and store medications coming into the pharmacy and verify that prescriptions are filled correctly. Lastly, I create dossette trays for elder patients, maintain the stock of prescription medications in the dispensary, inform the pharmacist whenever inventory needed stocking and dispensing medications to patients and creating management plans under the pharmacist supervision.

 

Catherine House Surgery – Physician Associate Student: Community Medicine Placement: March 2022-December 2022.

I worked alongside a team of clinicians delivering appropriate medical care to patients within the community. Under GP supervision my key responsibilities include, taking medical histories on EMIS, perform medical examinations (respiratory, cardiology and gastrointestinal), attend multidisciplinary team meetings, interpret findings from investigations with achieving diagnosis and providing appropriate treatment for patients.

 

Oxfam – Volunteer: September 2014 – June 2017

I had the opportunity to be involved in my local community through various tasks and responsibilities. This includes customer service, assisting customers in the shop, processing payments, sorting and organizing donations.

Modules: Foundations in clinical medicine, clinical diagnostics and communication skills, personal and professional development, and evidence in practice.

Complete a dissertation on Exploring the management of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.

Biomedical Sciences (1st Class Honours)
