About Tom Dale:
Research assistant with 10 months experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory as part of an R&D team tasked with developing cutting edge pharmaceutical products. Over 3 years of experience working in BSL2 laboratory environments, employing various scientific techniques and skills. Achieved a 2:1 plus honours classification in Human Biosciences at undergraduate level, and combined my studies with other commitments. In achieving this, I have shown myself to be self-motivated, committed, and determined in achieving my goals, and that I can work hard under pressure. I possess exemplary interpersonal skills, both written and verbal as proven by my participation in an online international learning project, and my work as a scientific liaison during my previous employment. I believe I will be an excellent fit for your team, and would love the opportunity of an interview.
Experience
November 2020 – October 2021 – Research Assistant, Biopharma Process Systems
Duties initially involved those of a laboratory production worker associated with producing PCR diagnostic products in a GMP laboratory and ISO 13485 accredited diagnostics production facility. This involved meticulously following SOPs and a great deal of quality assurance to make sure our products were in line with our customer’s quality standards. Also involved writing numerous SPIs to report to senior scientific staff. As of March, however, was moved to R&D where duties involved assisting senior laboratory staff on their projects. Operating safely within cleanroom and cytotoxic laboratory conditions. Sub-sampling freeze dried products for use in various analytical techniques such as Karl Fischer titration, modulated differential scanning calorimetry, and lyostat freeze drying microscopy. The setup, programming, and running of all the afore mentioned. Reconstitution of lyophilised pharmaceutical products for analytical purposes. The preparation of various formulations for use in research. Working appropriately within laminar flow cabinets and nitrogen isolators. Calibration of pipettes, balances, pH meters.
