Experience
Working at McDonald’s as a stock manager and supervisor for the past two and a half years has been a fast-paced, demanding, but ultimately rewarding experience. I started off as a crew member, but quickly moved into stock management due to my attention to detail and ability to stay organized under pressure.
As a stock manager, I was responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring all deliveries were checked and stored properly, and making sure that all stations had what they needed for peak periods. One of the biggest challenges was balancing stock rotation and freshness while avoiding overstocking perishable items—especially during unpredictable rushes or promotional events. I learned to forecast demand based on sales trends, weather, and local events, which made our operations more efficient and reduced waste.
In my supervisory role, I oversaw shift operations, supported team members, and handled any immediate issues that came up—whether it was a customer complaint, a fryer breakdown, or someone calling out sick. Managing a diverse team taught me a lot about communication, patience, and leading by example. I made it a point to be the type of supervisor I once wished I had—firm but fair, always approachable, and someone who genuinely cared about my team’s growth and morale.
The job came with its share of challenges—tight deadlines, high turnover, and the occasional difficult customer—but it also taught me discipline, resilience, and how to stay calm under pressure. I now have a deep appreciation for the logistics that keep a high-volume location like McDonald’s running smoothly. It’s not just flipping burgers—it’s real-time problem-solving, people management, and strategic thinking every single day.
