About Valona Gouck:
Organised and adaptable individual, with over 20 years’ experience working in a higher education environment. My attention to detail and excellent time management skills means that every task is completed efficiently and to the highest possible standard. I have a calm and patient disposition meaning that I can work effectively under pressure and focus on the task in hand. An involved team player but also possessing the ability to work responsibly and effectively on own. Innovative and pro-active within any sector and always looking to think outside the box when problems arise. Experience
Main Duties
- First point of contact via telephone calls, e-mails incoming and outgoing correspondence with confidentiality as a key role. Monitor generic email box.
- Record annual leave and report sickness absence.
- Organise and attend various meetings for academic staff, taking minutes, collating papers, produce agendas and organise catering if required.
- Book rooms for meetings and teaching, facilitate in the organisation of conferences as and when required
- Requisition catering and stationery using the One University ordering system.
Operations Assistant (50% FTE)
Main Duties
- As part of a team, requisition research equipment/consumables using One University or University purchasing card, adhering to University procurement policy.
- Report building faults to University and NHS estates.
- First point of contact for students, engineers, and visitors.
- Carry out fire safety checks and weekly fire alarm testing, reporting any issues to Operations Manager
- Staff card activation
