About Vickie Stuart :

I am Passionate about my subject specialism and imparting this knowledge onto others, I have successfully completed my PGCE with the hope of undertaking my QTLS at the earliest opportunity to give me further credibility as a teacher.  I am willing to do any additional training (CPD) if needed to further myself according to the ETF standards.
I employ a variety of teaching methods within my classroom to provide a high-quality learning experience for my learners. For example, at Blackburn College and SCL Education, one method I used was active learning it was proven to strive and to involve students in the learning process more directly than in other methods, students participated in the process and students participated when they were doing something besides passively listening particularly with sport students.
Differentiation is a consistent practice during my planning to ensure every learner can achieve the learning objectives and will undoubtedly progress in some way for example at Mount Carmel High I would initiate peer assessment or evaluation within my lessons so student were able to learn from one another, In addition to this extension task were given to those learners who was capable of exceeding the work or task  given and completed this within a timely manner.
Within my teaching practice I habitually undertake formative assessment to provide my learners an individual target grade and I am happy to provide additional support when needed to formulate an individual learning plan for them to achieve their specific grades at the end of the academic year. The implementation of an ILP is highly beneficial and serves as a reminder of set targets and evidences progress made providing a personalised learning experience.
Ability to motivate young people toward an achievement of their planned objective: Instilling motivation is key to success, particularly for the 14-18 age range. I aim to motivate my learners by getting to know them, tailoring my teaching, learning and assessment accordingly through the use of real life, contemporary example and information and learning technology which has been highly effective in engaging and capturing their attention. For example; at Blackburn College and SCL Education I would let learners; particularly for those learners with a big personality and generally demotivated when doing theory listen to music through their headphones when completing work, it motivated them to stay on task.
I offer individual support to learners through one to one tutorial; working alongside learners setting achievable goals building their confidence in the process. In this way, learners will continue to be motivated as they achieve their own set targets. Using SMART targets ensures learners are not setting themselves up to fail, but to achieve their targets at their own pace. I offer positive reinforcement through feedback and feed forward.
Ability to develop and promote relevant curriculum effectively: I can develop the curriculum through planning effective schemes of work, engaging lesson plans and suitable formative and summative assessment methods which meet the needs of all learners. The curriculum is obviously set, however as a teacher it is my role to plan fun, interactive learning experiences to bring the curriculum to life in the classroom. Taking into consideration individual needs is key to learners achieving. I provide a safe, supportive environment for people to learn in. This is done through the consideration of classroom layout and by adhering to  Health and safety and safeguarding polices are adhered to throughout. I enjoy watching people progress, looking at individuals from when they started to where they finish is so rewarding, especially knowing it is through sharing your knowledge and being supportive that has facilitated their success.
As a teacher it is recognisable that we must be extremely organised, highly flexible and have excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, parents, heads of department and school. Throughout all me experiences in the world of work I have demonstrated this ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. teach another subject with an enthusiastic and highly motivated attitude. I have worked in many schools covering a variety of subjects. I use a multiple of teaching methods to ensure all my learners are fully engaged, motivated and willing to learn for eg: Active learning is a foremost teaching style that is identified to be an effective teaching method to maintain learner’s engagement and keep them motivated within lesson.
I am experienced teaching children from age range 4 – 19 which can be evidenced within my application form. My methods of teaching promote a safe and inclusive learning environment by ensuring all my lesson are effective with high planning and all learning objectives are achievable. I hold and set extremely high standard and expectations in the terms of behaviour and all my lesson observations to date have reflected these standards. Classroom management is one of my key strengths and provides the conditions to enable   successful teaching and learning.
Demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity, customer service and quality assurance: All learners in my classrooms are always treated equally and with respect, with all lesson plans I promote equality and celebrate diversity by ensuring all learners are given the same opportunities to learn and achieve, regardless of their background, sexuality, religious beliefs age, gender or social class. I always deliver lessons on the Fundamental British Values and promote these, through being tolerant and respectful whilst working within the institution’s guidelines.
I feel I have the skills and expertise required to meet this role. I would relish the opportunity to build on those skills and contribute to the success and services provided by any establishment.
