I managed schedules, handled correspondence, organized files and documents related to menu planning, catering, and event coordination.- FNV, Utrecht (The Netherlands)Catering employeeAs a member of the catering team at the biggest trade union of the country, there were several responsibilities that I had completed within an extremely busy environment. My tasks consisted of assisting customers, maintaining stock as well as supervising.- REB Projects, Amsterdam (The Netherlands)Work PlacementTemporary work experience in a real estate development firm that modernizes the interior spaces of Amsterdam’s historic residential buildings. My responsibility was to assist with aspects of architectural work and attend to clerical duties.
  • Intern, REB Projects, Amsterdam (June 2016 - July 2016) During my temporary work experience at a real estate development firm in Amsterdam, I had the unique opportunity to contribute to the modernization of interior spaces in the city's historic residential buildings. Throughout the internship, I was exposed to various historical focuses, including the significance of historic preservation and the importance of adaptive reuse. I delved into architectural history, learning about the distinctive styles, design principles, and restoration techniques utilized in these treasured buildings. My role involved assisting with architectural work and handling clerical duties, all while engaging in historical research to better understand the cultural context and heritage that shaped Amsterdam's urban landscape. As I documented and preserved architectural details, materials, and craftsmanship, I gained a deeper appreciation for the conservation ethics that underpin the firm's approach to balancing modernization with the preservation of historical integrity. The experience not only broadened my understanding of Amsterdam's urban history but also instilled in me a passion for the thoughtful transformation of historical spaces in a way that respects and honors their past while adapting to the needs of the present.

Education

  • MA in Interior and Spatial Design at the University of the Arts London with highest distinction (A+): The MA course is about critical investigation through the theoretical and practical research interests and activities of students. The course has developed a distinctive identity born from our fluid position as designers in an ‘art school’ environment, coupled with our contemporary view of experimental spatial practice and the blurring of disciplinary boundaries. In my thesis, I explored historical aspects of architecture and the gender inequalities present in urban design. In light of events that were ongoing at the time, namely the COVID-19 pandemic and the heightened concerns for women's safety, I investigated and proposed innovative design solutions that address these issues and promote inclusivity in our built environments.
  • BA (Hons) in Architecture with Upper Second Class Honours (2.1): The BA course offers a thorough understanding of modern architectural practices, informed by consideration of the broader context of social engagement; who is it for, what informs its design and structure, and what will its legacy be? During this course, I was part of Studio 12 which investigates the relationship between the spatial configurations of architecture and the way in which people inhabit, appropriate, and transform them by exploring the role of routines and rituals in designing housing. I was focused on housing and its evolution in London, where I familiarised myself with former Prime Minister Harold Wilson’s reformations as it was a crucial era for advanced technology including affordable housing.
