About Yvonne Griffin:

I am an experienced mainstream primary and secondary Headteacher who currently works as a School Improvement Adviser across a range of context and need. I am passionate about learning and teaching and believe in a holistic education where our students are given all the tools and resources needed to shine and succeed in the 21st Century.

 

Experience

I have recently completed roles as a Primary Principal and School Improvement Adviser in a range of mainstream and SEN settings. My recent school advisory role enabled me to provide support and challenge to Headteachers and lead on school improvement to ensure schools were fully compliant and in line with Ofsted expectations. My role has required me to create bespoke curriculum packages and engage all stakeholders. I lead on CPD, SEND practice and system innovation for continual improvement in both mainstream and SEN settings.  I enjoy leading, developing and empowering others for all students to achieve their maximum potential. My leadership background exemplifies the ability and hunger to lead and drive school improvement in a variety of contexts and all key stages by articulating and modelling the vision for sustained excellence. 

 

I use strategic planning, delivery of training, robust monitoring and coaching and mentoring to improve outcomes for all pupils. I confidently analyse data, produce plans and prioritise actions accordingly; reporting impact to stakeholders. I deliver high quality CPD to all staff matched to the new Ofsted framework and school needs. I devise systems of coaching and mentoring to eradicate underperformance and build systems for the preferred future. I am well- versed in writing and developing the implementation of EHCPs, more able trackers and classroom non-negotiables to guarantee a holistic, inclusive and ambitious approach to learning and teaching. I have developed various systems for tracking in order to celebrate all measures of success particularly for the most vulnerable cohorts of learners. 

 

As a Designated Safeguarding Lead, I ensure safeguarding remains a priority and that all staff understand policy and procedures. I use CPOMs to report safeguarding concerns and ensure all staff have appropriate training in order to nurture their professional and personal mental health. I use rigorous monitoring systems to ensure that no child is left behind and the daily diet of good and outstanding remains an agreed expectation. These systems take many forms; pupil voice, book scrutinies and classroom observations to name but a few. I have trained Governors in classroom observation techniques and data analysis; this secured a framework and structure for effective challenge and support.

 

I have implemented the Learning Challenge Curriculum and innovation projects securing various prestigious awards in a range of settings. Thus, formulating partnerships and learning at local, national and global level. My CPD sessions are research, inquiry, and value centred. I have delivered various training packages both internally and externally. Most recently I implemented bespoke training for ECTs in order to grow and nurture talent organically. I designed training materials that facilitated opportunities for staff to maximise career progression within our organisation. The use of think tanks, learning clinics and teach-meets ensured that all colleagues were tuned into the vision and developed leadership at all levels colleagues as leaders in their learning. This cultivates and harvests a learning community based on respect, trust and collegiality.
