Zoe Del-Valle

Firstly I would like to introduce myself my name is Zoe.

I am a motivated paediatric nurse with 7-8 years of progressive experience in the NHS organization. Offering expertise in Health promotion, including being experienced in the school health vaccines (Flu and HPV) sessions within the school environment, complex needs nursing with children (Community) and young adolescents and general nursing needs.

 Currently working within the Covid-19 vaccination centre in Bridgend (Glanrhyd Hospital). I have been in this post since November 2020, and have gained so much knowledge. It have given me the opportunity to work under high pressure during the pandemic.  

I feel now is the time to progress further within my nursing career, as I have the experience which I feel will highly benefit me in future roles. I am very keen to learn new skills and advance my knowledge. Safeguarding has been a role I have took a massive interest in especially since the pandemic (covid-19). I have been working closely with the school nursing team and having great involvement in safeguarding. Such as attending school drop in services, Looked after children yearly assessments, Police protection reports and a&e reports. 

This particular posting have been a great interest to me for many years. I understand that Caring and working as part of a team is vital within this role. I am Energetic, self-starter and team builder, able to navigate high-stress situations and achieve goals on time.

 I have experience working with children on long-term ventilation and complex needs while I worked within this team in 2015-2017, which I gained so much knowledge from. I have the knowledge of understanding risk assessments and ability to understand care planning for children in the community is a vital part of the job, to ensure high quality care is provided.

 I am resourceful and well-organized with excellent leadership and team building record. Some of my good qualities I have listed below, I feel these have been gained from years of experience within my nursing career:

Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to children's mental health and well-being.

 During September 2021, I completed my mentorship training within Cwm Taf Health Board and I feel this have given me a great insight of team management. During this time this I gained how to identify objectives to staff/students and how this could be improved to meet the needs of the service. And also if team members needed more Clinical Supervision.
