About Zoe Riley:
I am a level 7 BACP registered counsellor, mainly using the person-centred and positive psychology approach. However, I also have extensive knowledge around the psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approach. I would describe myself as an enthusiastic, compassionate, hardworking, reliable, non-judgemental, and trustworthy individual seeking employment in counselling. I take my developing career serious and approach my current role as a voluntary qualified counsellor and founder of Take My Right Hand, which is in it's early stages, professionally. I have great ethical understanding due to having to work in a confidential environment in both counselling and the ambulance service. I have experience of working with array of people such as the youth; elderly; those with mental health issues; and those with learning difficulties.
Experience
Altogether I have worked along side three different types of services: A generic counselling service that works with a variety of clientele ages 17 years and upwards for array of issues which offers open ended therapy; a student service that is located in the University of Bolton for those in education struggling with their mental health or any particular issues for a period of 6 sessions; and finally, a multiple disciplinary team that works with clients who have specific issues such as giving up smoking, weight management etc. for a period of 7 sessions.
Education
I hold a Master of Science (hons) degree in counselling and positive psychology.
Following a Bachelor of Science (hons) degree in counselling, psychotherapy and psychology.
