    Venator is recruiting for an IT Network Operations Engineer, to join the IT Team. This role is based at our global headquarters at Wynyard.

    Reporting to the IT Network Operations Lead, the purpose of this job is to ensure effective technical management and development of key IT infrastructure systems and technologies. Continuous improvement and upgrading of technically complex system and processes is a key requirement in delivering operational excellence and data security. In the Absence of this role the ability to maintain pace with or to exploit technology developments would be severely restricted and would result in system failure or loss of data integrity.

    Job responsibilities include:

  • Business Continuity - Acting as a point of escalation for other team members the job holder will address incidents and manage changes which require specific technical expertise or business knowledge.
  • System Improvement - The job holder will be responsible for identifying and leading technical upgrades and enhancements to key infrastructure systems. Coordinating with all global stakeholders to agree planning, communications and delivery of technical upgrades.
  • System Development -A key component of the role is to manage introduction of new and innovative technologies defining technical standards along with processes and procedures to ensure smooth rollout and effective transition to operational services.
  • Project support and service intake - Many business and IT projects require IT infrastructure. The job holder will provide support from design to delivery for such components within IT and business projects.
  • Security & Compliance - The job holder will ensure changes to operational services are in line with IT security standards, will ensure timely completion of Compliance and SOX reviews and risk assessments and track progress and report on remediation plans associated with IT Operations.
  • Technical Weekend activities - The job holder will play a key part in Technical Weekend activities to plan and deliver system upgrades and enhancements during the event
  • Candidate requirements:

  • The individual will have 8+ years' experience in IT Network infrastructure, typically these would be in the fields of IT, network & telecommunication management.
  • The job holder will have strong technical skills in a number of areas and be an expert in some of these. Key technology areas used by Venator include but are not limited too; Cisco Identity Services Engine Microsoft Azure based Networking Cisco Networking Services (Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Wi-Fi) Cisco Unified Communications Cisco Defense Orchestrator
