    Job Responsibilities ("What you'll do:")

  • Establish a team for the production of optical components within a new, state of the art, cleanroom manufacturing facility
  • Manage the manufacturing processes, systems, procedures and resources to achieve the business objectives and growth plan of Snap
  • Generate, communicate and manage the production schedules and commit
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of Production Operators and Technicians
  • Manage and ensure efficient use of manufacturing resources, materials and equipment
  • Monitor production performance (quality, cost, safety and delivery) and take necessary action if issue arises that may affect production plan
  • Analyse manufacturing information through the use of MES, MMS & SPC systems and implement any required actions to ensure targets are achieved
  • Establish, monitor and improve production metrics
  • Promote quality awareness; actively pursue continuous improvement with regards to cycle time reduction programs, lean manufacturing, OEE, yield improvement, productivity, efficiency and quality
  • Ensure business policies, procedures, standard operating procedures and health & safety regulations are developed and adhered to within the manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proven experience of working in a hi-tech and dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience within a multi-shift environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong ability to explain benefits to stakeholders, to gain acceptance of any change by giving relevant information, analyses, and making sound and confident recommendations
  • Familiar with MES type systems, ideally experience implementing one.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting guides, OCAPs, working documentation, safety
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Relevant Manufacturing or Engineering degree or relevant vocational education (e.g HND, NVQ, etc)
  • 5+ years of experience working in a production or product development environment within a hi-tech industry, preferably within a controlled environment such as a cleanroom or laboratory space
  • 3+ years of line management experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of establishing new cleanroom facilities and manufacturing teams from concept through to production readiness
  • Class 5 or 6 cleanroom environment working experience
