Day to day you will be involved in:

  • Procurement of goods fit for purpose, based on:
  • Parts supplied confirming official drawings and material specifications
  • Liaising with Quality, Production, R&D, and suppliers to maintain agreed quality.
  • Developing close working relationships with other key functions
  • Issuing and managing purchase orders in line with customer requirements
  • Ensuring that the supplier base adheres to all criteria set out in the supplier contract.
  • Managing supplier relationships to drive annual cost reduction activities while maintaining quality and security of supply.
  • Monitoring the schedules for deliveries
  • Monitoring and evaluating material pricing
  • Monitoring and evaluating supply base performance
  • Assisting, building and discussing KPI performance with suppliers.

The person:


  • Previous experience working in a Purchasing function within a Manufacturing Company.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of dealing with Far East suppliers would be advantageous.
  • CIPS qualification would be desirable, although not essential as sponsorship is available.
