GBR Recruitment Ltd are working with a progressive foodie, recruiting for an experienced Hygiene Manager to lead a team of c.20 Hygiene Operatives in completing daily cleaning tasks, deep cleans of machinery & surrounding work areas duringline closures / shut downs (working in confined spaces & at height from time to time) plus daily checks ensuring Hygiene protocol is being adhered to at all times.

As the food companies Hygiene Manager, you will play a key part in providing effective Management, Leadership, Coaching & mentoring along with training to the Hygiene team cross training them wherever possible to ensure all Hygiene tasks are always carriedout successfully to BRC & Company food safety & quality expectations.
Other Hygiene Manager Responsibilities:
- Managing, coaching, encouraging, and motivating all other members of the onsite Hygiene team to make sure they are working to the best of their personal abilities giving opportunity for real development.
- Leading the Hygiene Team to ensure the completion of hygiene schedules, projects, daily cleaning plans, ensuring the plant and working environments hygiene is maintained to the highest possible standard
- Ensuring effective accurate deployment of all Hygiene resources.
- Planning and coordinating all hygiene activities and resources.
- Management and escalation of team absences or disciplinary issues.
- Carrying out regular onsite Hygiene audits, along with assisting during BRC or other external Hygiene audits, plus ensuring all Hygiene behaviours are in line with legislation / compliance across all areas of the operation from Operatives, Team Leaders,Managers & Visitors to the site, wearing the correct PPE (hairnets, boots, overcoats, ear defenders etc...)
- Ensuring all hygiene documents are completed correctly & filed out in accordance with the companies set requirements.
- Supporting other Senior Managers in delivering a professional operation.
- CI / LEAN focused looking at ways of improving Hygiene plus reducing costs for chemicals, PPE & other associated cleaning products / accessories that are used on a day to day basis.
- Look at reducing machinery & line downtime by working cleverly with the SMT, looking at ways of completing required cleans around production.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Food Hygiene Manager, Hygiene Supervisor or similar experience
- Food Hygiene & Food Safety qualifications certificates
- Strong professional communicator at all levels (operative to SMT level)
- Experienced in departmental budgets, controlling the provision, storage & use of all hygiene equipment, inc. chemicals (COSHH) inc. materials
- Ability to lead a team of c.20 or more Hygiene operatives / industrial cleaners
- Ideally Low & High care food manufacturing experience
