    The Access, Booking & Choice Team have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individual looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied.

    The department is the central hub for outpatient and inpatient booking, and operates flexibly over 7 days a week.

    You will be responsible primarily for providing a comprehensive booking service, whilst additionally completing all associated tasks to ensure our patients receive an excellent first impression, whilst ensuring all necessary data is recorded to facilitate the patient's attendance management under the 18 week and national cancer pathways.

    Duties will include liaising with patients and internal departments over the telephone, registering patients and their referrals, booking and confirming appointments/admissions using LE2.

    2, Somerset, Choose and Book and ORMIS, dealing with enquiries, using waiting lists to manage patients, escalating capacity requirements, filing and other general clerical duties

    You should have the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including covering for colleagues during absence and annual leave.

    Helping to ensure that there are robust systems in place that assist the service user and other staff to provide safe and effective services

    Helping to ensure that all teams work to agreed standards across the specialty, providing a first class service and appropriate management of referrals, waiting lists, appointing and data recording takes place to meet local and national targets, income generation and compliance with Trust standards and policy.

    Manage non-attendance in line with the Trust's Access Policy.

    You should have the flexibility to meet the needs of the service, including evening and weekend working; covering for colleagues during absence and annual leave.

    English and Maths GCSE or Equivalent (Grade C or above)
    NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge
    Administration/Customer Service Qualification
    Experience in a busy hospital / NHS setting
