Customer Technical Manager

Refresco UK - Flexible Location (this role can work from any of the Refresco UK sites - Pontefract, Kegworth, Bridgwater, Milton Keynes)

Refresco the world's largest independent soft drinks manufacturer seeks a passionate, agile and expert
Customer Technical Managerto lead our Customer Technical Support Team. Together, you will manage our customer's technical questions, complaints and issues, including site visits and act as the link between the site quality teams and customer technical teams.

This role is criticalin helping Refresco UK maintain and enhance the customer relationships we have built up over many years, so you will need to be great at working with people both internally and externally.

About the Role
You will be leading a team of 6, covering customer technical support across 6 Refresco UK sites.

You will report to the Head of Technical and deal directly with our larger customers, as well as acting as a point of escalation for your team when they needyour input with the customers for whom they have direct responsibility.

You are already a qualified, experienced Customer Technical Manager, so you probably know what is involved, but to be transparent, here are some of your key tasks and responsibilities as
Customer Technical Manager at Refresco UK:

  • Manage the technical relationship between all customers and your team.
  • Report key customer KPI's and initiate corrective actions when KPI's are not on target.
  • Work closely with site quality teams so that customer expectations are clear and acted upon.
  • Facilitate customer site visits and audits.
  • Respond to customer enquiries promptly, appropriately and in full.
  • Work with the commercial team to understand and drive customer quality improvements.
  • Ensure customer technical representation at customer review meetings, providing necessary technical information as required.
  • Develop your team to realise full potential ensuring that regular 1:1's, development plans and appraisals are in place

About you


You will have been in a similar role as a customer facing technical manager for 3 to 5 years, with experience in food or drinks manufacturing, and relevant qualifications in food science or food technology.

You can demonstrate that you have focused on yourcontinuous professional development by keeping your technical knowledge up to date. You will be familiar working with customer ERP based technical systems.


Just as important, you are comfortable working with and communicating at all levels of seniority, both internally and externally, passionate about what you do and able to adapt and respond at short notice if needed.

As a result the ability to prioritise customer issues is essential and you may need to change direction at any moment

The salary for this role is dependent on experience.
