SLR have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planning professional to join at Senior grade, to assist with both project delivery and with client and team management activities within the Nottingham office.

The team undertake environmental assessment and transport planning work for clients across all development sectors; ranging from residential, commercial and mixed use development in the built environment sector, through to minerals and waste operations, power, infrastructure and more.


About the role:


You will be delivering a wide range of transport assessments and plans for clients across the UK using a detailed knowledge and experience of standard modelling packages and recognised transport appraisal techniques.

This is a client facing role, with opportunities to grow your own professional network therefore this role will include client liaison and attending meetings as required.


Duties will be varied but will include:

  • Managing project workload and finances in line with client expectations and SLR priorities
  • Continuing to update personal knowledge or relevant technical, legal and policy changes
  • Managing and develop colleagues within project team
  • Maintaining continuous professional development
  • Providing guidance on quality matters and technical issues
  • Seeking to "add value" to all projects
  • Assisting with work winning activities, including the preparation of fee proposals.

About you:

To succeed in this role, we'd envisage that you would bring:

  • Relevant degree (or higher) level qualification and membership of the Transport Planning Society
  • Demonstrable experience at a comparable level within transport planning in a consultancy or similar commercial environment
  • Proven project delivery capabilities, along with project and client management skills
  • Experience of transport planning packages and assessment software, including TRICS and Junctions 10. Experience with LinSig would also be preferable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of highway design principles to advise clients on site access strategies


Should you be successful in this role you will be supported in working towards the Chartered Transport Planning Professional [TPP] qualification if not secured already.
