    East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people's own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

    Head of Quality and Governance
    We are currently looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our friendly and focused team as Head of Quality and Governance. With enthusiasm and a positive, proactive approach, working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the successful candidate will take a lead in delivering and driving forward the Governance and Quality agenda for the Hospice. They will be responsible for ensuring systems and processes are implemented and monitored to the highest standards in order to achieve governance assurance and quality objectives across the Hospice.

    The individual will be a self-starter who is used to working with minimal supervision. They will be responsible for putting in place systems and processes to deliver CQC compliance, providing guidance, advice and support in all aspects of the governance and risk agenda. This will include co-ordination of governance arrangements to ensure delivery of CQC standards, self-assessment, risk management, information governance, clinical and organisational audits, local and national guidance, directives and legislation.

    The Successful Candidate
    Due to this role working standalone the successful candidate must have a background in quality and governance related roles, with experience in a healthcare setting. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have previous root cause analysis experience, be familiar with GDPR and information governance with an in in depth knowledge of risk management. The hospice currently has 'outstanding' status, and in order to retain this, the successful candidate for this role will have strong working knowledge of the CQC regulatory framework. Given the nature of the role, integrity and trust are key personal qualities with a confident yet collaborative working style.

    What we offer
    The salary for this role is £43,911pa working 37.5 hours across 5 days flexibly to meet the needs of the Hospice.
