Head of Pricing (FTC/Perm)

Asta is the first-choice strategic partner for underwriting entrepreneurs or established insurers seeking access to the Lloyd's market. We provide bespoke solutions that enable clients to enter Lloyd's, combined with a flexible range of services that support them as they grow.

At the heart of our business is Asta Managing Agency, the leading third-party managing agent at Lloyd's.

Main purpose of job:

FTC- To develop and build the Asta Pricing framework including syndicate services, governance, reporting and management of external providers.

Perm- To oversee the Asta Pricing framework including the delivery of agreed pricing services to syndicates, pricing governance, reporting and management of external providers

Key tasks:

FTC-

• Design a refreshed Asta Pricing policy which sets out both Asta services to syndicates and our expectations of the Syndicates themselves
• Design pricing reporting to POWG, Syndicate Boards and other committees as necessary
• Build a directory of agreed pricing models and design a process for annual review
• Design model review and sign-off criteria incorporating Lloyd's pricing principles as necessary
• Design and embed external actuarial services from third parties as necessary
• Conclude remaining actions arising from 2023 Asta Pricing Internal Audit report
• To participate in relevant committees of the Syndicate and Asta Boards as required.
• Embed future "business as usual" actuarial pricing function and Syndicate services

Perm-

• Oversight of syndicate pricing policies to include annual review
• Maintenance of approved model universe
• Model review and sign-off including model updates
• Assessment of syndicate pricing capabilities against Lloyd's pricing principles. Drive improvement actions as necessary
• Oversight of achieved to technical ratios part of syndicate PMD submissions with appropriate challenge as necessary
• Ownership of pricing reporting to POWG, Syndicate Boards and other committees as necessary
• Management of external actuarial services from third parties to ensure a high quality service to Asta syndicates
• To participate in relevant committees of the Syndicate and Asta Boards as required.
