    Remit:

    • This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Process Automation Engineer to join a forward-thinking company who place their staff at the forefront of their business and are going through a sustained period of growth
    • Candidates MUST HAVE in depth knowledge of injection moulding machinery, processing and ancillary equipment
    • This role will suit an experienced Injection Moulding Technician with experience of manufacturing products to tight tolerances and using high grade polymers

    Role:

    • As Process Automation Engineer you will be responsible for identifying ways to reduce the requirement for labour in the production environment through innovation and development and keeping abreast of industry advancements in technology
    • In the role of Process Automation Engineer you will be develop automated part handling and orientation systems
    • Provide ongoing support for automation systems, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime
    • Manage the design, specification and manufacture of process, assembly, and test equipment for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
    • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilising knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
    • Collaborate with Operations Team and NPI regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
    • Create comprehensive documentation for automation systems, including manuals and process work instructions
    • Liaise with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials and parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
    • Conduct training sessions for technical staff on the proper use and maintenance of automated equipment
    • Responsible for ensuring that all NPI and EC is production ready and fully optimised, using automation where possible
    • Accountable for developing setting sheets for all new NPI and EC where required to ensure all production processes are fully optimised to reduce cycle times and to minimise scrap
    • Responsible for ensuring that all jobs have suitable jigs and fixtures to increase efficiencies and reduce cycle times for processes, improving those that are currently in use and refining processes to increase efficiencies
    • Develop and maintain process engineering area, ensuring that all automation equipment is catalogued and easy to allocate and access to jobs using WinMan
    • Comply with all ISO 13485 requirements

    Experience Requirements:

    • Industry recognized injection moulding qualifications (IMT Level 4 Advanced Processing preferable)
    • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field
    • Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment
    • Demonstrable experience of using logic control to optimize processes
    • Sound understanding of computer programming and software development
    • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex systems tests
    • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and experience of implementation within an injection moulding facility
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Good project management skills
    • Experience working to ISO 13485 an advantage
