    Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional? Our client is one of the largest plant hire company's in the UK.

    They are looking for a Health & Safety Lead to promote Health & Safety throughout their depots around the country.

    Role:

    • Oversee Safety: Regional lead for health and safety.
    • Identify and Address Hazards: Through regular inspections and audits, proactively find and fix potential dangers.
    • Develop Safe Practices: Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager to create and implement effective health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Educate and Empower: Provide training to employees and contractors, fostering a culture of safety awareness and safe working habits.
    • Stay Informed: Stay updated on the latest safety laws, regulations, and industry standards, advising on their implications.
    • Risk Management: Lead in assessing risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring risk assessments and method statements are accurate and communicated effectively.
    • Continuous Improvement: Work with regional teams to identify areas for improvement, sharing best practices and learnings to enhance safety across the region.
    • External Collaboration: Establish and maintain connections with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and clients.
    • Client Support: Provide guidance and assistance during client visits and inspections related to health and safety.
    • Addressing Concerns: Participate in resolving health and safety complaints brought forward by employees, clients, or regulatory bodies.

    Requirements:

    • Experience: 5+ years in construction/plant hire.
    • Health & safety knowledge (regulations, best practices).
    • Accident investigation & corrective action.
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills (training, influencing).
    • Strong organization, prioritisation & problem-solving.
    • Team player with independent work ability.
    • Microsoft Office proficiency.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Professional Certification in Health & Safety.
    • Certification in health & safety desirable (company may fund).
    • Experience in conducting accident investigations a plus.
