We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officerto join our organisation and have responsibility for keeping financial records, preparing accounts payable and receivable, processing grants, recording, checking and reporting financial data and delivering high-quality internal and external customer service.


Core Responsibilities:


  • Processing customer orders, preparing invoices and maintaining accurate records
  • Performing credit control to ensure on time payments
  • Processing supplier invoices and preparing bills in the finance system
  • Reconciling bank statements in the TDM finance system
  • Organising accurate records and documentation to evidence VAT claims
  • Organising the purchase ledger
  • Supporting our accountants and payroll with finance queries
  • Supporting the Compliance Team with finance compliance checks on documentation
  • Checking and reporting on payment reports from funding bodies and correcting any errors on documentation that affect income
  • Monitoring funding and crosschecking reports to identify potential funding claw back
  • Preparation of the LER report providing accurate actuals versus forecast numbers
  • Liaising with different departments and teams to ensure purchase/sales orders are compliant with TDM finance systems
  • Processing expenses claims and checking for staff's compliance with claims
  • Processing customer grants and preparing reports for funding bodies
  • Supporting directors and managers with cashflow analysis and forecasting
  • Supporting directors with quarterly managed account reports
  • Supporting directors with the analysis of cost of sales/delivery against income and supporting with implementations for improvement that meet funding body requirements
  • Supporting managers with spreadsheet requests
  • Liaising with funding authorities in respect of funding and finance queries
  • General administration duties, including ordering of stationery, reception rota, team event bookings, etc

KPIs:


  • 100% customer satisfaction (internal and external)
  • 100% stakeholder satisfaction (employers, learners, funding organisations)
  • 100% timely and accurate completion of financial reports for managers and governors
  • Individuals who have a passion for finance and customer service
  • Relevant experience of working in finance in operational and/or financial management is an essential for the role
  • Experience working with a Finance system (we use Xero)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to deliver against TDM values and communicate with individuals from various backgrounds and in a variety of different roles
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Having a background in the apprenticeship, adult learning, or job sector is advantageous but not essential
