    Description

    Are you a Manufacturing Engineer who is looking to join a supplier to the UK Defence industry? The business has a strong order book for a variety of different projects which is set to grow further still.

    The site boasts several machine shops & fabrication sites where they have the latest technologies. As Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead the NPI process ensuring that customer requirements are met.

    Job Description Responsibilities


    • Lead New Product Introduction & ensure that all process and followed throughout
    • Assist in the continuous improvement of the NPI process to drive business performance
    • Liaise with customers to resolve technical issues as and when necessary
    • Work with the other business functions to ensure all other activities are completed as per plan
    • Liaise with suppliers as required to identify optimum methods of manufacture and tooling
    • Participate in PFMEA sessions
    • Analyse processes for improvements and ensure timely implementation
    • Work closely with the Sales team with Enquiries and Quotation activity
    • Create routings and bills of materials
    • Generate stage drawings and work instructions
    • Supporting machinists during initial program prove out
    • Conduct engineering elements of the contract review process as required
    • CNC programming using Siemens NX
    • Produce rework and salvage schemes as required
    Manufacturing Engineer

    Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience


    • Time served knowledge in the field of complex machining
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
    • Experience working within a highly regulated industry such as
    • Demonstrable experience of milling and turning including 5 axis milling
    • Experience of new product introduction
    • Strong CAD/CAM knowledge in modelling and programming (Siemens NX experience would be desirable)
    • Knowledge of Industry Standard quality requirements, AS9100, ISO9001
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
