    About The Role

    In line with the ongoing growth and evolution of the GRAHAM business, we are actively seeking a motivated, inventive, dynamic, and experienced Estimator to play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding our portfolio within the Interior Fit Out Division - you will be based at our Head Office in Hillsborough, Northern Ireland.

    This key position, reporting directly to the Pre-Construction Director, holds the responsibility for crafting meticulous estimates. The ideal candidate will bring not only technical expertise but also a proactive and enthusiastic attitude, vital for achieving and surpassing departmental targets.

    As we continue to push boundaries and explore new horizons, the Estimator will contribute significantly to the strategic development of the Interior Fit Out Division, bringing a wealth of experience and innovative thinking to further elevate the GRAHAM brand in the industry.     The Estimator will work closely with the Bid Team to orchestrate the bid program with finesse and expertise. This seasoned professional will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:

    Collaborating strategically with the Bid Team to develop a comprehensive schedule of key dates for the estimate, overseeing critical milestones such as inquiries, pricing, and adjudication.

    Conducting thorough reviews of tender documents to ensure completeness and meticulously analysing Conditions of Contract for potential changes.

    Undertaking the process of sending out inquiries for materials and sub-contracts.

    Conducting site visits as needed, ensuring the acquisition of crucial information for the estimation process.

    Demonstrating a high level of proficiency in preparing and organising all documents to be included in the tender submission.

    Exhibiting advanced skills in loading Bills of Quantities onto the computer estimating system and adeptly editing as necessary.

    Leading the way in performing quantity take-offs and preparing Bills of Quantities from drawings, seeking assistance from Quantity Surveyors when required.

    Applying seasoned judgment in resourcing and pricing each item in the Bill of Quantities.

    Taking charge of pricing any necessary temporary works, and coordinating seamlessly with relevant parties for the design of such works.

    Displaying advanced proficiency in preparing and pricing contractors' preliminaries for the project.

    Leading the creation and completion of adjudication sheets and reports, guiding the review process with the Pre Construction Director/Directors.

    Ensuring the finalisation of tender documents for submission after the adjudication process, with meticulous attention to including all required information.

    Implementing a systematic approach to collecting and filing all information related to the tender.

    Providing comprehensive reports on the results of each tender to the Director.

    Proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in areas under their responsibility.

    About You

    Technical Competencies

    Essential:

    1. Minimum of Degree in Construction Related Discipline or Equivalent

    2. In-Depth Knowledge of the UK Construction Market:

    - Showcase a comprehensive understanding of the UK construction market, preferably with a background in contracting within the construction industry.

    3. Expertise in Estimating:

    - Possess a thorough and complete understanding of the estimating process, demonstrating proficiency in accurately assessing project costs.

    4. Effective Communication Skills:

    - Exhibit strong communication skills, essential for conveying complex estimating information clearly and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.

    5. Tender Adjudication Experience:

    - Proven experience in presenting tenders for adjudication, showcasing the ability to articulate and defend estimates convincingly.

    6. Resource Identification and Site Preliminaries:

    - Demonstrate hands-on experience in identifying resources and costing site preliminaries, reflecting a practical understanding of project logistics.

    7. Risk and Opportunity Assessment:

    - Showcase the ability to assess project risks and opportunities, displaying a strategic mindset in navigating challenges and maximizing potential advantages.

    Desirable:

    1. Proficiency in Causeway Estimating Software:

    - Familiarity with Causeway or similar Estimating software is desirable, highlighting a tech-savvy approach to modern estimating tools.

    2. Supply Chain Knowledge:

    - Possess a sound understanding of the supply chain within the UK construction market and various market sectors, showcasing awareness of industry dynamics.
