- Someone who started life as a developer but has made the conscious decision to go down the management route.
- You must still be highly proficient with hands-on coding, with excellent HTML, JavaScript and CSS knowledge a hard requirement. React would be highly desirable but not an absolute deal-breaker. / Go / SQL a bonus
- 5+ years of commercial experience in Software Engineering
- 2+ years of team management experience, not just line management
- A strong consideration and understanding of capacity management
- Used to working to tight client-led deadlines
- Experience of working with a product (saas etc) and building/coding off a ready made foundation - as opposed to building from each time.
- Strong stakeholder management for both internal and external needs.
- Experience and excited to be dealing with clients, including during pre-sales and onboarding

Digital Waffle is exclusively partnering with a Technology Consultancy that is now looking to hire its next Software Engineering Manager.
The company, who are based in Birmingham City Centre, has been a mainstay in the local Tech Community and has organically grown its team over the past decade.
This role is hands-off, solely focusing on management and getting the best from a squad of 6 Web Engineers who work on a modern tech stack including Vanilla JavaScript, React.JS, TypeScript, Node.JS, and PostgreSQL.
In a hybrid-remote role, you will be required to be in the office 2/3 days a week in the Birmingham City Centre office.
The salary on offer is between £90-110k (depending on the experience of the candidate).
