    Experienced Naval Architect required to work with our Glasgow based client.

    In this technical role, the Naval Architect will be tasked with the engineering of solutions for our clients in a broad range of markets. You will be expected to have a base level of competency in an assortment of tasks, have a good understanding of the relevant QA procedures, commence peer reviewing others in select tasks and start to take more responsibility over your own work output.

    • Technical Aptitude – role requires the ability to complete key tasks with only occasional assistance from more senior staff.
    • Practical Outlook – role requires the ability to apply engineering knowledge to real world problems.
    • Diligent – delivery of successful projects is reliant on staff being responsible and ensuring their tasks are carried out properly and on time.
    • Good communicator – capable of communicating to the wider office (seminars/ lunch & learn etc.)
    • Clean Driver's License – required for attending meetings and site work.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Manning Naval Architecture and Structural Analysis aspects of projects and contracts won by the Company including but not limited to:
    • Concept and feasibility studies
    • Lifting studies and transportation engineering
    • Naval Architecture studies
    • Structural analysis using a variety of toolsets.
    • Create computer models in various software packages to aid analysis above including but not limited to:
    • Autohydro hull models for intact and damaged stability and float-offs
    • Strand7 FEA models for structural designs
    • Orcaflex models for mooring analysis both static and dynamic
    • HydroD models for hydrodynamic analysis
    • Peer review of tasks above, where your competency has been proven.
    • Carrying out discreet research studies and technical analyses and preparing technical reports with the findings.
    • Attending Site Visits, Meetings and Operations both within the UK and abroad.
    • Completing scopes on time and within the budget allocated.
    • Assisting with the costing of new enquiries for both new and existing contracts.
    • Follow the company Health, Safety, and the Environment requirements always.
    • Have a working knowledge of the company Quality Assurance requirements in relation to this work and ensure they are always met.
    • Assist in improving the internal processes of the Company.
    • Opportunistic marketing of the company and its services to existing and potential new clients.
    • Any other tasks or duties outside your normal work as the Company may reasonably require.
