Main purpose of the role:

Operating within the Talent Acquisition & Development Team of the People function at St.

James's Place (SJP), this senior-level role is responsible for shaping, leading and implementing three key strategies from a People perspective - culture, engagement and wellbeing.

Your expertise and experience in the area Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) will also be key, working in collaboration with our Responsible Business team.

These strategies form a key part of SJP's People Strategy and sustained growth for our people and our business.

Our goal is to create a culture where I&D is engrained in everything we do and in so doing, we enjoy a high-performance culture where there is a strong sense of belonging for everyone.


What you'll be doing:


Culture

  • Working closely with the People leadership team, you'll ensure that plans within the People strategy are aligned to SJP's cultural vision and values, identifying opportunities to improve cultural practice and make appropriate recommendations which could enable this.
  • Lead the implementation of businesswide culture change strategies & initiatives, ensuring these align to SJP's cultural ambitions and enhance the employee experience.
  • Measure, evaluate and report on the effectiveness and impact of those strategies & initiatives using indicators such as engagement, wellbeing, diversity, attrition etc. to ensure they are fit for purpose and provide continuous improvements. Develop dashboards to aid reporting and measure return on investment.
  • Ensure that any strategies or initiatives have been considered from both from a Consumer Duty and responsible business perspective.

Engagement

  • Define our approach to colleague engagement and experience which aligns and integrates with divisional approaches and builds a coherent and convincing picture of colleague engagement and experience.
  • Develop methods to effectively gather & analyse colleague data and insights from a variety of sources, identifying colleagues responsible for turning those insights into action plans.
  • Lead the development of strategies and initiatives to improve the engagement and experience of our existing colleagues, prospective joiners and alumni, and implement programmes designed to achieve this for all.

Wellbeing

  • Set the strategic direction of the colleague wellbeing strategy, providing an external perspective in this area.
  • Build relationships across the wider business to coordinate efforts in this space. Through effective promotion and signposting, you'll ensure colleagues have a consistent experience and equal access to wellbeing services, events and information.
  • Lead and deliver our wellbeing strategy across all aspects (mental, physical and financial health) ensuring a focus on developing a positive wellbeing culture across the whole organisation.

I&D

  • Taking strategic input from the Responsible Business Advisory Group and the I&D working group, lead the development and delivery of an agile, pragmatic, and practical I&D plan from a People perspective.
  • Coordinate I&D data analytics and reporting to meet all compliance & regulatory requirements across the People function.

Who we're looking for:


We're seeking someone with significant professional experience in the areas of cultural development, engagement, wellbeing and I&D, with knowledge of shaping, aligning and implementing effective, wellbeing, culture, engagement and I&D strategies, plans and priorities to support business strategy and deliver cultural change.


  • A passion for the I&D, wellbeing, culture and engagement agenda and energy & enthusiasm for improving the lived experience of colleagues at SJP.
  • Ability to use data to drive insight will be key to aid decision making and measure success of all initiatives.
  • Experience of analysing and presenting business and market data insights and recommendations.
  • Strong project management experience and skills, including effective planning and delivery of multiple priorities, stakeholder management, task and risk management and communications.
  • Proven experience of partnership and collaboration in order to build and manage strong relationships within the People function, colleague networks and senior leadership levels, including Csuite leaders.
  • Ability to manage complexity and present it back in a coherent manner appropriate for the stakeholder's knowledge and expertise.
  • You'll be skilled in using a range of influencing and leadership styles to ensure collaborator groups are committed to tasks and project delivery.
