A permanent, full time Finance Manager role within the Not for Profit sector, paying between £41,000 and £43,000 per annum and offering hybrid working from Salford.

Our client is a small Not for Profit organisation who has been positively impacting the lives of those who finds themselves in times of financial difficulty, for over 40 years.

During current times, the organisation has found that the need for their servicesand programmes has grown significantly and they have some ambitious plans as they head into 2023.


Description
The key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Lead on the management and strategic development of the finance function including strengthening finance policy, procedures, controls, reporting, and training.
  • Ensure all financial practices of the organisation align to the Charities SORP.
  • Provide expert, robust, timely and accurate financial and reports, forecasts, analysis and advice to the Director, Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees.
  • Proactively identify the financial challenges, opportunities, and emerging risks facing the charity and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Manage the relationship with the charity's independent examiners and take the lead on audit planning and preparation.
  • Develop and oversee the annual budget and forecasts, working closely with other SMT to ensure the appropriateness of any key assumptions included budgets and advise accordingly.
  • Ensure the provision of consistent, robust and expert financial advice to the Director, SMT and trustees as appropriate.
  • Ensure the charity is compliant on all financial matters and the statutory annual report and accounts are prepared on time for trustee review.
  • Be responsible for liaison with the Charity Commission and Companies House on behalf of the charity.
  • Ensure, through the Finance Assistant, the efficient and accurate management of all operational finance including the organisation's payroll function.

Profile

  • Working towards a professional qualification or qualified by experience;
  • 3 years experience within the Not for Profit space would be ideal;
  • Demonstrable experience of improving financial management systems;
  • Previous experience of working effectively with Trustees, Board members or senior executives;
  • Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to analyse financial data and provide balanced and expert financial advice;
  • Ability to build strong and productive relationships with colleagues and teams across the organisation;
  • Strong communicator, approachable and able to communicate complex financial information concisely and effectively to financial and nonfinancial audiences.

Job Offer

  • A permanent, full time role offering between £41,000 and £43,000 per annum;
  • Hybrid working, 12 days in the office in Salford at most;
  • 10% employer contribution pension;
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays.
