At AstraZeneca's state-of-the-art global R&D centre 'The Discovery Centre - DISC' at the heart of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC), we accommodate 2,000+ brilliant minds pushing the frontiers of science to bring life-changing medicines to patients around the world.

We are seeking an Engagement Specialist to bring our story of global life sciences and What Science Can Do (WSCD) to life.

Accountabilities:


As an Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for telling the story of WSCD to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Based at the DISC, this role requires someone confident in a range of environments.

You will liaise with various teams, plan, lead and host tours for groups, deliver training sessions, support onsite delivery of VIP visits, evaluate the effectiveness of tours, and manage the Amazing Journey tour app.


Essential Skills/Experience:


  • Experience of working with senior leaders and external stakeholders
  • Strong, varied experience in event management
  • Excellent written and verbal 'face of AZ' communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and coordination skills
  • Ability to multitask and reprioritise as needed
  • Possesses a sense of urgency; is selfmotivated and detailminded
  • Meticulous planning and attention to detail
  • Proactive approach in resolving problems and issues
  • Ability to work in a global environment including understanding of cultural differences

Desirable Skills/Experience:


  • BS/BA degree in life sciences or communications or related field
  • Experience of working in matrix organisations across multiple teams
  • Experience in a customerfacing role
