We're recruiting for a Chef to work in a high school based in Alnwick on an ongoing basis - potentially a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate.
Monday - Friday, term time, 7.30am , £16 per hour + holiday pay.
Must obtain an Enhanced Child DBS and be able to commute to NE66 postcode.
In this role you will:
* Create exciting menus using fresh ingredients ensuring all dietary requirements are met.
* Work well with the catering team to provide freshly cooked healthy food for the staff and student
* Have a full knowledge and understanding of all food standard required for a school based catering service
Main duties include:
* Food prep, production, and delivery - large volume
* Delegating to catering assistants / kitchen porters as required
* Communicating with the team to ensure smoothness of service
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
* Meeting all on site health and safety requirements
* Manager stock control
To be considered you must have:
* Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Chef in a school, care home, hotel/restaurant or contract catering unit
* Food and Hygiene Level 2 certificate
* Be professional, punctual and reliable
