As the Head of Marketing on The Week and MoneyWeek, you'll be responsible for setting and delivering a customer-first acquisition strategy for two award-winning weekly magazines with over 350,000 readers.

You'll be reporting to the Marketing Director for UK News and Wealth, and will lead the subscriptions marketing strategy on these unique brands.

You'll also be managing and motivating a driven team of three reports.


What you'll be doing...


You will be responsible for a multi-million £ annual marketing budget and accompanying integrated marketing strategic campaigns plans for The Week, collaborating with all specialist teams (including editorial, digital marketing, retention, CRM) to deliver results.

You'll have the opportunity to own a large budget across multiple high-performing channels and exciting initiatives, and will be driving these forward to constantly evolve and enhance the marketing performance within the team to ensure that what we do remains at the forefront of the industry.

You'll work closely with both internal and external teams and agencies to drive subscriptions and brand awareness.

You'll bring a high level of enthusiasm and drive to succeed, as well as a highly collaborative approach to working.

You'll be an instructive leader of people with a creative and energetic approach to marketing.

  • Key Responsibilities:_
  • Create and own customerfirst multichannel marketing strategies, driven by profitability and Lifetime Value (LTV) and including channel mix, forecasting and performance.
  • Be responsible for a significant acquisitions budget, using an agile approach to prioritise channel use and moving spend to maximise impact.
  • Lead the strategy across a broad mix of marketing touchpoints, including online, offline, audio and OOH.
  • Segment target audiences and use your extensive digital marketing experience to devise full funnel planning, from driving awareness to lead generation and subscription conversion.
  • Understand, monitor and report on campaign performance and its impact on CPAs and CLTV and forecast ROI.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

  • You must have 5+ years of demonstrable experience in a senior role, ideally with relevant experience in subscriptions and/or recurring revenues.
  • You'll be wellversed in working to CPA, CLTV and ROI calculations to measure marketing success and effectiveness.
  • You will thrive on meeting and exceeding ambitious targets and have experience in making key strategic decisions in order to do so.
  • You have significant experience managing, shaping and motivating a team.
  • You have planned and implemented end to end marketing campaigns, from briefing and working with creative agencies and designers to tracking and reporting on results.
  • You have experience managing and being accountable for a significant marketing budget.
  • You have experience of both brand awareness and direct response campaigns and can expertly articulate the benefits of both.
  • You have extensive experience managing and responding to senior stakeholder expectations.
  • You have worked at an equivalent level of digital marketing experience.
  • You have experience in working with agencies and stakeholders in a crossfunctional environment.
  • You understand the importance and opportunity created by segmenting audiences and customer journeys from a customerfirst perspective.

The expected range for this role is £35,000 - £70,000

This is a Hybrid role from our London Office, working three days from the office, two from home.
