The Role:
The Quality team are currently recruiting for proactive individual who can provide leadership and be a catalyst for the promotion of Quality excellence at our Sheffield Plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and tests for attributes and variables on work in progress including; components, subassemblies, final assemblies and purchased materials
- Conduct supplier source inspection, first article, in process and final, as required, support SCM activities including incoming quality audits (IQA) & (PPAP)
- Operate effective acceptance and rejection procedures and maintain accurate records
- Issue nonconformance reports and monitor prescribed corrective and preventative actions
- Conduct predelivery inspections (PDI), prepare all documentation, plan and facilitate client inspections as required/requested
- Develop/assist with the implementation of BIQ/Quality gates
- Develop and improve quality inspection procedures and work instructions in liaison with the relevant document owner and support services
- Maintain AX ERP system records
- Support the development of Quality Test and Inspection Plans
- Assist operations management in understanding relevant Quality requirements and the impact they have on operations.
- Conduct internal audits and assist in the preparation for external audits and visits.
- Assist management in addressing and correcting audit findings.
- Contributes to the development of the QMS/IMS.
- Ensure standard operating procedures are implemented effectively, develop local instructions which support the SOPs, agree any local variation with the Head of Quality as a facility addendum to the applicable SOP.
- Operate effective acceptance and rejection procedures and maintain accurate records
- Analyse Quality information and issue periodic reports including costs of poor Quality, number, type and the effectiveness of their closure to the facility management team and the Head of Quality.
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of ISO standards, integrated systems, and procedural requirements
- Internal audit 9001 QMS certification
- Strong communication skills able to communicate with people at all levels
- Previous experience of product verification against relevant standards and specifications.
- Sound inspection ability including component measurement and evaluation against specifications, drawings, and standards
- Selfstarter, able to work to time scales with minimum supervision
- A breadth of knowledge and experience including EHS regulations, programs and policies, with a willingness to learn, adapt and changeAn understanding of EHS regulations and corporate standards (Desirable)
- Time served in an engineering discipline essential with C&G 743 (Desirable)
- Knowledge of CNC/NC, CAD/CAM (Desirable)
- IQA qualified (Desirable)

£38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
