    Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of carers? Do you have experience in social care assessments and a strong understanding of the needs of carers? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated Adult Social Care Service at West Berkshire Council as a Social Care Practitioner - Carers Assessments.

    As a Social Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for conducting high-quality assessments of carers' needs, ensuring that they receive the support and services they require. You will work closely with carers to understand their individual circumstances and provide advice, guidance, and information on available resources. Your role will involve collaborating with a range of professionals and agencies to coordinate appropriate support for carers, promoting their wellbeing and enabling them to continue their caring responsibilities.

    To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A relevant professional qualification in social work or a related field.
  • Experience in conducting assessments within a social care setting is essential.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Care Act 2014 and its implications for carers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective working relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, enabling you to manage a varied caseload efficiently.
