- Creating a calm and nurturing learning environment for all students;
- Setting behavioral boundaries and redirecting negative behaviors;
- Designing and delivering engaging lesson content tailored to individual needs, and assessing student progress throughout;
- Collaborating effectively with classroom assistants and other staff members;
- Liaising with senior leadership to make any needed alterations to IEPs and other individual learning plans;
- Supporting students with ASD through specialized techniques such as Makaton and PECS.
- Experience in a special educational needs setting, particularly with students with ASD;
- Training in Makaton, PECS, or other communication techniques is valued;
- Ability to work with other staff members to meet the diverse needs of students;
- Valid right to teach in the UK, with QTS, QTLS, or equivalent qualification.
