    As our financial accountant You'll work within our insurance financial control and reporting team and will play a pivotal role in the production of statutory, regulatory and industry reporting for Bupa


    Some duties will include:
    Accountabilities and Activities


    • Production of accurate monthly financial accounts and quarterly reporting for the UKRE in line with Group and regulatory deadlines.
    • To prepare and upload appropriate journals to create the UKRE result.
    • To check the completeness of Tagetik submissions for the UKRE to meet reporting requirements.
    • To support the process of preparing the Annual Report and Accounts for the UKRE.
    • Preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory returns for the Financial Conduct Authority and overseas regulators.
    • Maintenance of working files and continuous improvement of controls and reconciliations.
    • Maintain process and procedure notes ensuring they are fit for purpose and reviewed at least annually.
    • Support the preparation and running of the Regulated Entities Reporting and Disclosure Committee ('RERDC) by preparing agendas, taking minutes, tracking actions and preparing papers to be presented to the RERDC and the Regulated Entities Audit Committee.
    • Learning and development alongside the accounting experts within the IFR&C team, to become fully conversant with our business units, statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare returns relating to the Office of National Statistics, Payment Practices and Association of British Insurers.
    • Support ad-hoc tasks and projects as required by the Financial Reporting Manager or Director of IFR&C.

    Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

    • The successful candidate is likely to be a newly or nearly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
    • Finance experience with a strong grasp of double entry is necessary for success in the role.
    • Must be analytically and numerically minded.
    • Advanced PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and accountancy software.
    • Excellent Customer service skills, including communication, management of expectation, recommendations.
    • Attention to detail and high quality outputs.
    • The jobholder will be expected to proactively build and maintain relationships with customers throughout the finance team.
