    Junior Clinical Fellows in Emergency Medicine

    Can we tempt you to join our amazing multidisciplinary team? Our Junior Clinical Fellow posts are an ideal opportunity to work in a supportive clinical environment with dedicated non-clinical time for portfolio development.

    The posts will have dedicated non-clinical time (20% of rota time) to develop a portfolio of your choice, ideas include:

  • Educational Fellow- 6 months (with an option to progress SIM training)
  • Quality Improvement Fellow - 1 year
  • Ultrasound Fellow- 1 year (with a commitment to sign off level 1 competence by the end).
  • Feedback from trainees has been extremely positive including:

    Main duties of the job

    The successful candidates will be part of a team of 13 junior doctors in a busy district general hospital Emergency Department (ED). You will work alongside nine middle grade doctors & eight consultants in a multi-disciplinary team including ENPs and ACPs providing front line care to an undifferentiated case mix. The successful applicant will participate in a full shift rota providing 24-hour shop floor cover. The department provides a consultant led service with ample opportunity for supervision. There is direct consultant shop floor cover approximately 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    The post is available to start from August for up to 6 or 12 months.

    Job responsibilities

    The ED at the Princess of Wales Hospital sees approximately 56,000 new patients per year. There is substantial exposure to the breadth of EM cases ranging from seriously ill or injured adults and children to minor injuries with ample opportunities to develop EM procedural skills. Our ED has a dedicated, dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team. This provides an excellent and supportive working environment.

  • Full GMC/GDC Registration

  • Previous experience of working in the NHS/experience of NHS UK working practices and systems.
