    We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our well established and integrated adult community stroke and neuro rehabilitation team.

    Redbridge health and social care community service is a forward-thinking and innovative service that works in a fully integrated way, with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, district nurses, social services and community matrons all working side by side to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to the people accessing the community services.

    Our community rehab team assesses housebound adults within their home environment. By assessing people within their home environment, we are in a good position to significantly improve people's quality of life and promote independence at home by providing therapy as well as by jointly working with social services, occupational therapists and the other members of our integrated team, making this a very rewarding job.

    Probationary Period
    This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
    Starting with NELFT
    NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
    High Cost Area Supplement – London
    This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).

    Detailed job description and main responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist assesment and treatment to patients within Redbridge with a wide range of conditions including, elective or traumatic orthopaedic conditions (such as hip and knee replacements or orthopaedic surgeries). Musculoskeletal conditions where the person is unable to attend an outpatient clinic and general deconditioning and deterioration at home resulting in a loss of independence with activities of daily living. Taking into consideration the patient's physical/cognitive/perceptual skills to identify the patient's abilities and areas of difficulty.
  • Providing support and assistance to junior staff and support rehab support worker, through supervision, training and appraisal.
  • Achieving and maintaining quality care through the delivery of evidence- based practice and adherence with national guidance.
  • Working as part of the multidisciplinary team across the rehabilitation pathway liaising and supporting our therapy colleagues in the community as required.
  • Falling with the remit of the rehabilitation services within NELFT's Redbridge Directorate, there are strong working relationships community staff and social care within this pathway as we are integrated with social services.

    Post-graduate clinical experience working as a Band 5/Band 6 Physiotherapist.
    Evidence of participation in In-service training and personal CPD.
