Description

The Technology Risk and Control Specialist is a key member of the Technology Risk & Control team who will play a key role in helping the Technology division improve its management of risk and controls.

The role will involve engaging with Technology departments to help their management of risk and control. This will include activities involving the identification, assessment, improvement and tracking of risks, controls and corrective action plans. The role will also work with the other Risk and Control Specialists within the team.

The Risk and Control Lead for the team will be available to provide coaching and as a point of escalation.


Other responsibilities will include contributing to reporting on risk and control matters to stakeholders and maintaining relationships within Technology and with other divisions including Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance.

The role may have the opportunity to contribute to ad hoc cross-Technology risk and control initiatives and to represent Technology at control or risk forums and also contribute to Technology's response to firm wide initiatives.

The role will also support Technology's Regulatory Liaison activity for BAU matters and projects. This will involve helping projects and coordinate all of their engagement with the regulators.

Essential Function / major duties and responsibilities of the job
Strategic

Risk & Control Management


Deliver a consistent, effective and efficient approach to risk and control management working with colleagues from across Technology and the other divisions for the Technology department assigned to this role.

Support Technology's engagement with the 2nd and 3rd line of defence.
Regulatory Risk Management


Working with the Risk and Control Lead support escalations of material regulatory concerns to senior management in a timely manner, and develop strategic responses.

Proactively engage with the stakeholders to maintain an understanding of the potential regulatory impact of any risks, issues and proposals.

Assist Technology BAU and Projects by helping it manage its regulatory risk.
Operational

Risk and Control Management

Work with other Risk and Control Specialists within the team to ensure they are adding value and consistent.
Input into reporting on the results of the risk and control activity.
Escalate risks and control concerns to the Risk and Control Lead.

Support the engagement with Technology senior management, other divisions and the 2nd and 3rd line on risk and control matters and escalations.

Contribute to Technology division risk and control improvement activity, including process mapping.
Regulatory Document Management


Contribute to review of the quality and timeliness of all Project documents shared and submitted to the regulator including slides used in OSR meetings.

Focusing on clarity, consistency and appropriateness of documents (i.e. succinct, factually accurate, consistent format and font, etc.).
Maintain the inventory of all documents relevant to the regulatory engagement.
Supports the coordination of inputs into Comprehensive Memos, ANPC's and other mandatory regulatory submissions.
Regulatory Engagement Coordination


Provide support for any regulatory reviews and meetings (eg OSR's) including what meetings are required, the proposed agenda, content and attendees and the preferred order for the meetings.

Support the rehearsal and preparation meetings in advance of meetings with the regulators including contributing to timely training and feedback to the attendees.

Support consistency in messaging between stakeholders and across each engagement with regulators.
Track the responses to follow-up actions within agreed timeframes (usually this is within 2 days of the meeting).

Although Regulation Relations maintain the action list, this will require follow-up with individuals and responses will need to be reviewed.
