Introduction:

In March 2019, the UK Mod signed a $1.98Bn (£1.51Bn) deal with Boeing to purchase the E-7 Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning (AEW) Mk1 aircraft.

The E-7 fleet will replace the current E-3D Sentry aircraft and ensure the continued delivery of the UK's Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) capability.

The aircraft will enter service in 2024 and will be operated from RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland.

Being based upon the 737, the platform offers significant savings in training and maintenance, as well as extremely high reliability.

The Wedgetail AEW Mk1 is based upon the highly successful IGW NG aircraft, and requires a significant modification Programme to convert it into a high-end mission system capability.

To continue its commitment to the United Kingdom prosperity, Boeing is undertaking the modification at a UK location by a workforce comprised of both Boeing and subcontracted engineers and maintenance technicians in a suitably approved and equipped Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO).

Boeing are looking for highly skilled and motivated individuals to join the Boeing team to support the Production Supplier on-site at the modification location.

The modification Programme is expected to take up to 5 years to complete before the aircraft transition to the Main Operating at RAF Lossiemouth.

With a plan for the 1st aircraft to fly in 2024.

While we work in agile, dynamic and customer focused operational environment, your wellbeing is important to us and we strive to find a healthy life balance and ethical team culture with a strong emphasis on openness, inclusivity, collaboration, innovation, safety and first-time quality.
