Engineering Lead

Location: Devon (remote role within the UK only)

Join our team as an Engineering Lead, where you'll lead and mentor a talented team of engineers, drive collaboration with the product team, and establish efficient processes for project delivery. With a focus on strong leadership and technical prowess, you'll manage remote and diverse teams, ensuring the successful execution of projects while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Work closely with the product team to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Establish and refine processes to ensure efficient team operation and delivery of high-quality software.
• Gel the team together, fostering camaraderie and teamwork.
• Develop and implement systems and strategies for effective project management and execution.
• Manage remote and diverse teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

• Strong leadership skills with experience in running and managing engineering teams.
• Proficiency in PHP, with experience working with bare-bones PHP codebases and Laravel.
• Experience building unit and regression tests, and creating and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Good knowledge of SQL and/or MySQL, and experience creating and reviewing pull requests.
• Experience with web frontends (e.g., Vue, Angular, React) is beneficial.
• Understanding of modern UI frameworks like Tailwinds and user experience principles.
• Experience in Test-Driven Development and familiarity with Clean Architecture is beneficial.
• Good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes is beneficial.
