£40K basic with OTE £60K
Job description

Sturgess Motor Group are looking to recruit an experienced vehicle, Buyer.

This role involves working closely with our Sales Management teams in order to accurately identify our requirements and keep our used vehicle inventory within budgeted levels.

The ideal applicant will currently be working in a similar role and be fully familiar with current vehicle valuations and used to working with the various vehicle valuation platforms.

In particular you will be familiar with using Autotraders' Retail Accelerator and Insights to better understand desirability and Retail pricing metrics.

Ideally you will have good relationships with Contract Hire & Leasing companies, Dealer Groups, Remarketing companies as well as auction houses.

As this is predominantly a remote role the ability to plan and control your own working day and managing your time is crucial to your success.

Key requirements

Ability to negotiate and communicate effectively at all levels.
Indepth knowledge and understanding of both the Premium & Volume used vehicle markets
Previous recent Auction Buying experience, both physical and electronic.
Ability to understand auction grading and appraisal reports and also interpret reconditioning requirements and associated costs.
Proactive team player approach with interactivity between Sales/General Management
Workable knowledge and able to use Excel and Word.
Able to understand and produce stock purchase reports.
Work within predefined and agreed valuation and purchasing metrics
Accurate administration and record keeping
Clean current driving license essential
Maintain supplier relationships as well as identify and develop new sources of supply
The roles is predominantly home based but the ability to travel to suppliers & Sturgess locations is essential.
A full, clean driving license is required for this role.
