    Job Purpose:

    To manage a portfolio of claims on referral and provide oversight and control of USA Property, Casualty and Transportation binder claims in adherence with the mission statement, guidelines and operating standards of the Company

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Appropriate investigation and assessment of referral claims from MGA partner for coverage, damages and subrogation/contribution opportunities.
    • In-depth understanding of managing delegated authority relationships to include regulatory requirements and changing legal landscape for Property Liability/Casualty/Transportation claims.
    • Proactive and prompt management of claims, considering all aspects with a strategic vision for optimal claim outcome.
    • Continual evaluation of claim to set appropriate, timely reserves over the life of the claim to reflect changes in exposure.
    • Demonstrate strong technical claims proficiency through consistent execution of best claim practices.
    • Strategically coordinate and manage outside counsel and vendors to obtain optimal claim outcome.
    • Present high exposure (CAT) claims to Claims Leadership and Key Stakeholders.
    • Collaborate and work closely with internal and external business partners for client meetings, product development and improvement, and account audits.
    • Innovative mindset - looks for ways to improve claim efficiencies and outcomes.
    • Proactively managing claims with a strategic, total cost of claim mindset.
    • Technical, analytical and critical thinking to properly determine coverage and liability as well as effective oversight and control of MGA.
    • Host regular meetings with MGAs to discuss individual claims, MGA/TPA performance, and provide feedback to management to include remediation plans where applicable.
    • Conduct regular audits as required and follow up with the organisation and closure of claims audit findings.

    General Duties & Tasks:

    • Monitor and handle USA Binder Property, Casualty and Transportation claims by way of referrals in line with set authorities, operating standards and procedures, whilst promoting excellence at all times.
    • Oversight and control of claims performance providing detailed analysis of management information.
    • Organise and conduct regular monitoring meetings with clients, conducting audits, due diligence and report findings as required. Participate in preparatory or follow up discussions as required. Liaise with Underwriters, Client Managers, Agency and Auditors as required.
    • Investigate and negotiate settlement of claims, liaising with any co-insurers and experts and providing direction where appropriate
    • Assess and calculate case reserves.
    • Attend conferences with Counsel, trials, depositions and mediations as deemed appropriate and successfully communicate the Company's views and opinions
    • Assess inflationary factors and trends to assist the underwriting and pricing of business. Co-ordinate data collection and ensure delivery within agreed timeframe.
    • Provide underwriters with claims feedback to assist in underwriting and pricing of business by identifying relevant issues and trends. Where appropriate provide recommendations.
    • Represent and advance the interests of the Company at market meetings and working parties
    • Plus any additional duties that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.

    Key Skills & Experience:

    • 5 years plus experience of U.S. Property and Casualty Claims; and Auto/Cargo (physical damage) lines is a plus.
    • Experience of overseeing USA Binder business, tracking MI and resolving TPA audit findings
    • Understanding of technical claims proficiency and execution of best claim practices.
    • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and remain self-motivated in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with other departments and vendors.
    • Customer-service and relationship oriented.
    • Good verbal and writing skills for internal and external communication, presentations and reporting.
    • Good analytical thinking, advocacy and negotiation skills.

    Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

    • Educated to degree level or equivalent
    • ACII or progress to completion
