We require a Commercial Manager for our client in Halesowen who are part of global industrial engineering group that is at the forefront of developing manufacturing tools and machining solutions.

We are looking for a Commercial Manager to undertake all business control duties that contribute to reaching the overall operational and financial goals for their respective area.

Through fulfilling all the main responsibilities, this role will support theexecution of key activities and ensuring performance according to expectation.

You will play a pivotal role in advising the business on financial operations by reviewing data, identifying trends, forecasting, and financial planning in line with the businessplans.

Having a strong business mindset, you will actively collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including Sales, Marketing and Finance etc., to identify areas for improvement by positively supporting and challenging suggestions.

As the Business Controller your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Period end reports & analysis
  • Commentary on period performance, performing recurring analysis & present findings.


  • Business Partnering

  • Contribute and advice in the management team. Build strong relationships and network with key stakeholders.
  • Perform analysis & monitoring
  • Continuously monitoring of business performance and provide proactive adhoc analysis of current issues.
  • Provide recommendations & drive decision making
  • Input financial and business perspective on all operational issues. Support key business decisions with factbased analysis and simulation.


  • Drive performance management

  • Structured way of identifying improvement potential, agree upon activities and followup result.
  • Strategic Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Business planning activities with different horizons
  • Contribute to Business control community
  • Contribute to networks in Business control by sharing knowledge & good practices and support competence development.


  • Credit Control

  • Secure compliance within the company credit policy.
Set, update, and maintain credit limits and risk categories according to policy.

As the Commercial Manager you should have the following skills/experiences/competencies:

  • Have a university degree in Finance and/or Business Administration or equivalent extensive experience in a business, commercial or finance controlling position, a CIMA qualification or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge and skills in finance, pricing and profit management coupled with a welldeveloped business sense
  • High level presentation skills, strong analytical and problemsolving skills as well as excellent time management and be able to meet tight deadlines
  • Use of technology such as PowerBI
  • Able to communicate on all levels, and build and cultivate cross functional teams
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders across the organization in order to proactively identify opportunities and threats and based on these develop and implement fitforpurpose actionable and anchored actions
