To organise and facilitate International and National, Commercial and Non-Commercial Clinical Trials within the Research and Innovation Gastroenterology Trial portfolio including preparation for study submissions.


To work as a member of the team providing a high standard of care to patients participating in research including data entry, assisting with patient care and trial specific tasks.


To be responsible for the co-ordination of Clinical Trials, Ethics and R&I approval in compliance with Good Clinical Research Practise and the European Directive.

Providing direct support to the Consultants and MDT teams for clinical procedures and specific specialised Research procedures.

To implement, maintain and update relevant data systems in accordance with strict protocol guidelines.

Main duties of the job


To function as a member of the Research and Innovation Clinical Trials Team to provide dedicated clinical trials support to research teams across NUH.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, to co-ordinate a caseload of patients participating in local, national and international clinical trials in various treatment types.

Working for our organisation


The post holder will work in both clinical and office setting and will be exposed to different treatment agents, e.g.

immuno-, biological therapies. The hours of work are flexible office hours with the occasional requirement to do unsocial hours and weekend working.

Essential

Essential criteria

  • Satisfactory level of general education. Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Experience in working in clinical NHS setting including patient care and multidisciplinary working
  • Experience of communication with a wide variety of people including internal and external colleagues and patients and carers
  • Good time management skills in order to organise and prioritise own short term and long term workload
  • Awareness of clinical trials in clinical setting.
Desirable

Desirable criteria

  • GCP /Awareness/Certificate
  • Cannulation/Venepuncture/other clinical skills
  • Previous research/data collection, data input or clinical audit experience.
  • Endoscopy experience

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
