Job
The role of Assistant Financial Accountant will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

  • Assisting the Financial Accountant with the preparation & filing of annual statutory accounts
  • Helping ensure compliance with SOX & internal audit guidelines by monitoring key controls
  • Working with Internal & External Audit
  • Analysing Carriage & Distribution invoices & raising queries & reimbursement claims for billing exceptions & anomalies (against agreed tariffs)
  • Monthly reporting of volumes, cost per parcel / cartons & projected volumes
  • Monitoring various supplier performance & compliance with agreements
  • Working with various departments on development & profit improvement projects
  • Monitoring usage of UK & IE VAT deferment accounts & investigating discrepancies
  • Reconciling duty payments made for shipments against expected duties payable

You
As Assistant Financial Accountant you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

  • A good understanding of accounting is essential
  • A knowledge of carrying out all of the above tasks is not essential, however, it is essential you have a desire to learn and develop these skills
  • Ideally a Part-Qualified Accountant
  • Capable of quickly developing relationships
  • Good analytical skills
  • Extensive working knowledge of Excel & other computerised accounting systems.
