The role of Assistant Financial Accountant will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

Assisting the Financial Accountant with the preparation & filing of annual statutory accounts
Helping ensure compliance with SOX & internal audit guidelines by monitoring key controls
Working with Internal & External Audit
Analysing Carriage & Distribution invoices & raising queries & reimbursement claims for billing exceptions & anomalies (against agreed tariffs)
Monthly reporting of volumes, cost per parcel / cartons & projected volumes
Monitoring various supplier performance & compliance with agreements
Working with various departments on development & profit improvement projects
Monitoring usage of UK & IE VAT deferment accounts & investigating discrepancies
Reconciling duty payments made for shipments against expected duties payable

You
As Assistant Financial Accountant you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

A good understanding of accounting is essential
A knowledge of carrying out all of the above tasks is not essential, however, it is essential you have a desire to learn and develop these skills
Ideally a Part-Qualified Accountant
Capable of quickly developing relationships
Good analytical skills
Extensive working knowledge of Excel & other computerised accounting systems.
