Description

The main duties of the Senior Carer are to assist and support the Care Team in ensuring optimal care for the residents ensuring successful compliance with legislation and CQC's standards.

The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate care of the residents is the most important objective of the Home.


What you can expect your role to include (this list is intended to give you an indication of your role and is not an exhaustive list):

To support the clinical team in the delivery of service provision to embrace and implement the core vision and values of the Home.

You will need to have (or be willing to work towards) a Level 3 diploma in Health & Social care.

The advertised pay rate is dependant on experience and qualifications.

  • To provide effective evidencebased care for residents referred to the service under the indirect supervision of the Deputy Manager and Manager.
  • To be responsible for contributing to the creation and maintenance of an environment in which care and compassion is consistently demonstrated, ensuring patient centred care, privacy and dignity is practised at all times.
  • To be responsible for your own activities within the limits of your own competency.
  • To create, review and implement residents' care plans using the Log My Care App with indirect supervision of the Deputy Manager and Home Manager.
  • To plan, organise and prioritise the workload of junior members of the team.
  • To promote a positive image of the Home and its services.
  • To prioritise and effectively manage clinical and other responsibilities.
  • To promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
  • To support and maintain equality, diversity, inclusion and rights of users of service and colleagues.
  • To work together with multiprofessional teams and residents in all aspects of service improvement.
  • Administer medication to Residents as set out in the Medicines Management policy, once trained and deemed competent.
  • To ensure that all residents are given the appropriate information and actively encouraged to engage in their own health needs.
  • To empower and motivate service users to be as independent as possible enabling them to participate in recreation and leisure activities.
  • To respect residents' privacy, dignity, wishes and beliefs, minimising any discomfort and encouraging full participation in assessment and treatment.
  • To participate in the admission and discharge process.
  • To demonstrate a willingness to engage with residents, family members or residents' representative and other professionals at all times.
  • To be personally competent to assess residents, gain valid consent and have the ability to work within the legal framework with residents who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
  • To deal with any issue of professional behaviour or attitude, quality and safety as it occurs and report to the Head of Care.
  • To observe and enforce Health & Safety precautions to avoid injury or hazard to residents, staff and visitors.
  • To ensure that you maintain and evaluate accurate residents' records in line with professional codes, service standards and team specific requirements.
  • To be actively involved and support the team's effectiveness by attending staff meetings and contribute to the team's developments.
  • To communicate and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely fashion to the Deputy Manager or Home Manager.
  • To provide information both written and verbal to the Deputy Manager or Home Manager in case of accidents, incidents or complaints in which you are involved, following the company's policies.
  • To provide day to day supervision for the team of healthcare assistants: delegate or allocate work and checking for quality, competency and completion in a timely fashion.
  • To refer concerns to the Deputy Manager or Home Manager e.g. performance, attendance and or conduct.
  • Participate in any training required

Shifts you can expect to work:

  • 7:00am 3:00pm
  • 3:00pm 10:00pm
5 shifts per week, Monday to Sunday, alternate weekends off.

Salary:
£11.50-£12.60 per hour
